01/20/12 Elsie Drive Fire

Posted on January 20, 2012

At 0531 hours on January 20th, a structure fire dispatch was issued for a single family residence. Initially, the occupants were unable to be located and first arriving units began rescue mode operations. Once located at a neighbor's home, operations transitioned into an offensive attack to control the fire that had self-ventilated through the roof. As reported by local television news reports, a substantial volume of contents hindered extinguishment operations. Despite the heavy fuel load, the fire was limited to the kitchen, living room, and the attic directly over those two areas.

Chesterfield Engine 8 and Medic 8 deserve a special thanks for their quick response and great work. Also responding to the fire were units from Ford Company 2.
